We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our family's southern gospel music ministry. We are known as The Macs and our group consists of dad, mom, and daughter; Dennis, Jeannie, and Stacie McPhail. Though we have all been singing for over 25 years, our ministry together as a family began in the summer of 2003.
We were all born and raised in Northeast Kansas. Dennis was a music teacher and basketball coach and Jeannie a public library director while Stacie was growing up. Dennis and Jeannie sang together in The Messengers, a part time local quartet, from 1978-2002. Over the years we have had the privilege of sharing the stage with many nationally known groups. Stacie was raised on a quartet bus and became a southern gospel music fan early. When she was in the 5th grade, she started singing a solo or duet with her Mom during quartet concerts. After graduating from college in 1999, with a degree in music education, Stacie moved to Asheboro, NC where she was a music teacher for 4 years.
Although it was difficult to think about leaving the familiar and comfortable, Dennis and Jeannie felt God leading them to join Stacie in NC, and start a family ministry. The preparation for that move took 3 years. Dennis decided to make a change and use his counseling degree when they moved, and in the fall of 2002, Liberty Middle School in Morganton hired Dennis as a guidance counselor and girl's basketball coach. Dennis and Jeannie moved to Hickory, NC in 2009 to be closer to his latest position as the Student Services Provider/Counselor/Firebird Chorale Director/Athletic Director, and varsity boys basketball and tennis coach for Challenger Early College High School. After Stacie moved to Morganton in June of 2003 and we began the Macs ministry, she received her Master's degree in Special Education from Appalachian State. Stacie has been the Exceptional Children's Coordinator at the New Dimensions School in Morganton since 2005. Jeannie is a writer and homemaker.
Our first recording project, "My God's Good", was released in September of 2004 and had two radio singles, "Goodbye, Troublesome Blues", and "I Came to Love You Early". This recording includes several original songs as well as some old favorites. Our second project was recorded in Nashville. Kerry Beatty of the Palmetto State Quartet produced both of our recordings. The second project, titled "All About Him" includes three new original songs, as well as some old hymns and gospel songs. We have had two national releases from that project, "I'm Forgiven" and a song by Dennis, "All About the Blood." Ordering information is on our product page. The Macs are currently working on a third recording project.
It is our desire to not only bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through our ministry, but also to uplift and encourage believers in their daily walk. We want to share the joy that the Good News of the Gospel brings to all. Each member of our family came to know Christ at an early age and that is part of our testimony. The Lord has also brought us through some trials and valleys, including Dennis having three brain surgeries since 1993, and that too, is something we share about in concert. Both are a testimony to God's faithfulness, grace and mercy. We would love to have the opportunity to share our music and our lives with you and your church or organization. We come on a love offering basis. Please give us a call next time you are thinking about hosting a southern gospel concert. We will look forward to hearing from you. May God bless you as you serve Him.
In His Service,
The Macs
